Osho No-Dimensions Meditation
This another centring meditation by Osho, he took this technique from Sufi’s & made few changes in it to make it much more better & powerful with his insight. As Osho says that every circle has a center, but we are always living on the periphery of this circle. Personality is our periphery, our real source of life is at the center of our being. This center is connected to the center of the existence, to the center of the whole universe. The entire journey of religion & meditation is to find out this center within us. Knowing this center is also called enlightenment. In this meditation there are various hand movements, body movements followed by Sufi whirling that helps bring awareness to our center of the energy, just 2 inches below the navel. The body will be moving in all the directions around but one point of awareness, the center not moving & remaining absolutely still. It is in movement of the body the contrast is seen easily, the unmoving point inside us.
This meditation can be done any time during the day & is supported by the specific audio recording of OSHO No-Dimensions Meditation music.
Osho No-Dimensions Meditation
Instructions:
OSHO No-Dimensions Meditation has 3 stages & it lasts for 60 minutes.
Below are the two different instructions.
First one: This is from the source “Osho International Meditation Resort, Pune”
https://www.osho.com/meditation/osho-active-meditations/osho-no-dimensions-meditation
Second one: This is from my experience of doing this meditation by myself for few months/days:
First Stage: 30 Minutes – Eyes Opened
Standing: In this stage start with keeping your left arm on your heart & the right arm on the hara. Listen to the music & wait until the bell rings to start with the body movement.
Once the initial music will stop within 2-3 minutes, you will hear the bell. After this bell, a music will begin in which there will be 6 hands, legs & body movement will start.
1st Movement – Stand with feet 6-8 inches wide apart, keeping both the back of your palm touching each other from the back, placing them just below your navel. With the music, lovingly, swiftly & gently bring both the hands up together up to the heart center, while breathing in through the nose & breathe out with the word “SHOO” taking your right arm and right forward keeping the palm downward. Simultaneously bring your left arm back from the heart center, to below the navel & bring the right arm & leg back in starting position.
2nd Movement – Now repeat the same movement with left arm & left foot forward. Return to the original position as before keeping both your hand below you navel “Hara”
3rd Movement – In this movement use the right arm & right foot at 90 degrees to your right sideways & returning back to the original position as before keeping both your hand below you navel “Hara”
4th Movement – In this movement use the left arm & left foot at 90 degrees to your left sideways & returning back to the original position as before keeping both your hand below you navel “Hara”
5th Movement – In this movement use your right arm & right foot all the way to 180 degrees backwards turning clockwise & returning back to the original position as before keeping both your hand below you navel “Hara”
6th Movement – In this movement use your left arm & left foot all the way to 180 degrees backwards turning clockwise & returning back to the original position as before keeping both your hand below you navel “Hara”
*In all the above movements keep your eyes, head & hips in the same direction as your arm & your foot. You can follow the synchronicity to the music & the movement of the group in case you get lost. You can catch a breath & start again wherever the group is making movements from. While doing these movements keep on making the sound “SHOO” when moving the any one arm & foot forwards, sideways or backwards in a clockwise direction. The sound should come out lovingly, not forcefully or with pressure. Continue making this movement for the entire 30 minutes & you will feel much more centered awareness below the navel.
Second Stage: 15 Minutes – Eyes Open but unfocused
Standing: The music will get changed in this stage, before starting out whirling keep your hands across your chest & bow down to existence showing your love & gratitude to the existence.
Now start whirling from left to right or right to left, which ever feels comfortable to you, keeping one arm extending in the air. You can change the position of your arm while whirling. Remember that comfortable is right. You can start with slow speed & increase the speed as the tempo of the music goes higher. If you feel like stopping in between to catch a breath, you can do that & start whirling again.
Third Stage: 15 Minutes – Eyes Closed
Lying Down: In this stage the music will stop, again bow down with your arms across your heart center to the existence in love & gratitude. Just lie down on your belly with your eyes closed, feeling the mother earth. Let the energy flow within you. Remain still & watch whatever is happening inside your body mind.
